Five Views: Part 1 – Spreadsheet Assignment Instructions

Overview

To help you prepare to write the
Five Views: Part 2 – Paper Assignment, you will complete the
Five Views: Part 1 – Spreadsheet Assignment to organize the key elements of each of the five views presented by Johnson (2010) in
Psychology and Christianity: Five Views. The purpose of this assignment is to understand how the five viewpoints differ from one another on the five issues presented in Chapter 1 of your book.

Instructions

Using the
Five Views: Part 1 – Spreadsheet Template provided, you must describe how each of the five views addresses the five issues that distinguish the viewpoints. Please see the description of the five issues in Chapter 1 prior to beginning this assignment. The column headings are the five issues that Johnson describes in Chapter 1 that the five views differ on. It is recommended that you complete the spreadsheet throughout Modules 1-4: Week 1-4 as you are reading the views each week. You do not need to justify your entry in each cell, but rather just state how that view falls on that issue. For example, in the column that is Critical or Trusting of Psychology, you can merely write critical or trusting. There is no need to elaborate in each cell, but just state how the view falls on that issue. Your completed spreadsheet should be concise and demonstrate that you have a clear understanding of how the five views stand on the five issues.

Be sure to review the criteria on the
Five Views: Part 1 – Spreadsheet Grading Rubric before

beginning this assignment.

Note: Your assignment will be checked for originality via the Turnitin plagiarism tool.
